CTPR has a multidisciplinary and competent team with a range of skills in community education and facilitation, community development and livelihood analysis, gender analysis, sociology and anthropology, adult education and literacy, public health, community health, health education and communication, programme identification, development, implementation and evaluation, and social research including M&E and Child Protection. The team is well versed in the recruitment, training and supervision of community workers, research assistants, and volunteer’s management. Whenever there is need, CTPR works with other experts co-opted from partner/collaborating institutions to ensure best results are achieved.

The technical teams are supported by a strong Finance and Administration team of professionals at both national and district level with competences in the areas of finance and accounting, Human Resources Management as well Information Technology and Logistics Management.

Her worship Sarah Langa Siu
(MLAW, BLAWS)
(Acting Chairperson)

Sarah Langa Siu is a Ugandan lawyer. She is the Chief Registrar of the Uganda Judiciary. She holds a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Laws form Makerere University. She also holds a Diploma in Legal Practice from LDC.

She joined the judiciary in 2005, as a Magistrate Grade I. Over time, she rose through the judicial ranks to the level of Deputy Registrar at the Civil Division of the High Court of Uganda, a position that she held before she was elevated to her current assignment

She has led CTPR well using the analytical and evaluative skills she has developed in the legal field. Sarah has been with CTPR since 2016.

Mr. Rueben Mupadha
(MBA, BMS, UDBS, CPA-U)
(Treasurer)

Rueben is currently the Executive Director (CEO) of the Institute of Internal Auditors Uganda.

He has over 18 years of experience in accounting and management in various sectors that include manufacturing, Non-government organizations, microfinance institution and associations. He gained experience while working in several positions of responsibility as accounts assistant, assistant accountant, and accountant.

Mrs. Wasike Agnes Mutonyi

(Secretary)

Agnes is currently the National Coordinator, Child Protection Working Group with Trans-cultural Psychosocial Organization.

She is a social development professional with initial professional training in social work and social Administration. She has 10 years’ practical experience in education programming for vulnerable children and 4 years in child centered community development with NGOs as well as 4 years in child policy implementation coordination within central government framework in Uganda coordinating both state and non-state national level actors. She is an Ambassador of the Global Social Service Workforce Alliance advocating for a well-planned, well trained and supported social service workforce.

Mr. Byekwaso Fredrick
MPA,BACE

Fredrick holds a Master’s in Public Administration and Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and a bachelors’ degree in Adult and Community Education- Makerere University.

He is currently the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Kayunga District where he is in charge of production of quality reports for administration department, compiling CAO’s audit responses, enforcing accountability, monitoring adherence to National and District priorities, policies and programs, provision of support on implementation of government policies. He has worked as Senior assistant secretary, Ag, secretary District land board, community development officer.

Ms Namutebi Carolyn
(The Executive Director)

Carolyn is a public health practitioner and social worker with MPH. She is involved in implementational research on violence prevention and parenting work in Uganda. She has done work under Child Health and Development Center Makerere University to promote research that builds understanding for the implementation of evidence-based violence prevention and parenting programmes and how to document and plan scalability processes including their delivery at a large scale and/or within existing service systems. She advocates for greater collaboration between researchers, policymakers, development partners, non- state actors and program managers and staff to study how violence prevention programs operate on a large scale.

Carolyn is currently providing leadership at the Centre for Transformative Parenting and Research; a women led non-governmental organization that prioritizes Gender as a critical area of programmatic focus in violence prevention and improving family stability.

She is a passionate woman, committed to development initiatives and promotes promising interventions at national and local levels. She has rich experience in supporting women and men, girls, and boys in identifying, challenging and reframing negative norms and practices.

Dr. Godfrey Siu Etyang
(Head of Programmes)

Dr. Siu holds a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Adult Community Education from Makerere University, a Master of Science in International Health from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, and a PhD in Medical Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Glasgow in the UK.

His broad interests are concerned with the potential health contribution that an explicit focus on gender and masculinity can bring to men, women and their families. His PhD research titled ‘Dividuality, masculine respectability and reputation: exploring the link between men's uptake of HIV treatment and their masculinity in rural eastern Uganda’, examined men’s health seeking behavior for HIV in a gold mining area in Busia district, eastern Uganda, he has published several articles on this topic. He has been with us since 2011.

Mrs. Harriet Namulondo Labu
(Coordination, Training and Advocacy)

Harriet holds a MA in Child Development from Uganda Christian University with broad experience in management of community-based education programmes. She has a passion for improving the health status of children and adolescents in rural communities. Harriet has experience in health, gender and education programming and in research on sexual and reproductive cultural practices negatively affecting girls.

She is also a Scientific Advisor to the AfWORO board and AfWORO’s Social Researcher in Uganda.

Harriet has been with CTPR since its inception in 2010.

Ms. Jane Ainembabazi
(Accounts Assistant)

Jane holds a UDBS (accounting) and CPA (U), Bachelors in Accounting and Finance. She is a highly motivated person with impeccable judgment and an innate ability to solve financial and accounting problems.

Jane always thinks innovatively when dealing with risks or opportunities, and is well capable of thinking outside of the box. Her attention to detail is first class and she is a natural at meeting demanding reporting deadlines.

On a personal level she is a friendly, approachable and self - motivated individual who can work well both within a team and individually.

Ms. Allen Marion Nzira
(Project Officer/Communication)

Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in Laws from the pregistious Makerere University Kampala. She possesses excellent knowledge of most of the Microsoft Office programs, as well as proficiency in minute-taking and very good at liaising with clients and service providers which has enabled smooth running of the organization.

After working with Educate-Uganda, (an organization whose main aim is to develop young leaders in Africa) for 3 years, she attained leadership and mobilization skills and gained experience working with different communities. She is so zealous about efficiently producing timely results and works hard to attain maximum results from a given task.

Mr. Kyakulagira Bernard
(Support Staff)

Bernard is a warm and lively person who works very hard and tirelessly. He is very supportive and works well with the team.

He is responsible for handling organizational and clerical support tasks which include but not limited to; organizing files, scheduling appointments, writing copies, proofreading, receiving guests and performing other general office clerical duties and errands.

He has been with CTPR since 2019.

Mr. Lesbon Odongo
Accountant

Lesbon is a Certified Public Accountant from the Institute of certified public accountants of Uganda. He also holds an Accounting Degree from Ndejje University and a Diploma in Accounting from Nkumba College of Commerce. He was a District Internal Auditor for Nakasongola District Local Government from 2013-2021.

He has over 25 years of experience in accounting and management in government and private sectors which has enabled him to build a variety of accounting skills.

He joined CTP in July 2022.

Mr. Edrine Ssesaazi
(M&E Officer)

Edrine holds a Bachelor of Science in Population Studies from Makerere University. He possesses great skills in Data collection and entry, data management, data analysis, database design, and monitoring tools.

He has wide experience in data analysis using different statistical packages like Stata 13& 16, spss, epid data and excel. He also has good computer skills in statistical software. Other skills include; interpersonal and organization skills hence a good team player. His passion is in line with research and thus devotes himself to producing quality data.

He joined CTP in June 2022.

Ms. Allen Muhire
(Projects Officer)

Allen possesses a degree in Development Studies from Makerere University, a Law diploma from Law Development Centre-Kampala, and three years of experience moving projects toward success. Highly experienced in managing schedules, identifying and limiting risks, and maintaining all crucial documentation of work done.

She is also a motivated team player who excels at collaborating with other team members and project managers to solve issues, devise creative solutions, and ensure smooth sailing. Goal-driven professional who strives to exceed daily expectations

Ms. Catherine Norah Nabawanga
(Project Officer)

Nabawanga Catherine is a social scientist with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts in Social Sciences from Makerere University. She has familiarized herself with a variety of research and social sciences specialties, skills and competence with over 4 years vast experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection.

She possesses strong interpersonal skills, solid proficiency in micro soft word, excel and PowerPoint, motivated to learn more and committed to continuous learning. She is passionate about child protection and violence prevention work and a very good team player

Ms. RUTH MPIRIRWE
(Bio-Statistician)

Ruth holds a Master’s degree in Statistics, a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from Makerere University, A master’s degree in Management Sciences, and Post graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute. She is a Ph.D. candidate at Makerere University College of Health Sciences.

Her research interests include HIV/AIDS, community-based innovations, implementation of science-based research, Integrated Disease Surveillance and Reporting, and Health Management Information Systems. Her current research is on PrEP delivery models where she believes her findings will inform policy and improve PrEP uptake, retention and adherence among key populations towards reduced HIV incidences.

Richard Ssekiwunga
(Qualitative Researcher)

Richard Sekiwunga is a researcher whose work mainly focuses on public health issues. His broad interests explicitly focus on gender and sexuality, HIV, childhood illnesses, violence against children and women, families, and poverty.

Over the last twelve years, he has been involved in parenting work aimed at interventions to reduce sexual and gender based violence and child abuse. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and has a strong bias in qualitative analysis methods. Sekiwunga holds a Master of Science degree in Population and Reproductive Health and a Bachelor of Arts in the Social Sciences from Makerere University. He also posseses a diploma in Public Administration, also from Makerere University

Suzan Aloyo-jok Nyeko
(Project Officer)

Nyeko has a Masters in theology from the University of Bergen in Norway and a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from Makerere University. She gained tremendous experience while working as a Project Coordinator for Women of Destiny organization on the HIV/AIDS Prevention Project in Botswana. She has about 14 years of experience in project planning, supervising and monitoring.

She is very passionate about seeing lives changed and transformed.

Patrick Brian Eperu
(Logistics and Administrative Assistant)

Patrick has a diploma in Human Resource Management from Makerere University Business School and currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Makerere University Kampala. He gained experience while working with the China Road and Bridge Coorporation and the National Environment Management Authority as an Accounts Assistant.

He is s self-motivated individual, ready to learn and implement new ideas, hardworking, result oriented, full of integrity, interested in meeting new challenges and always looks for ways of how to deal with them. He also has the capacity for effective application of the power of the mind as a basis for action or response through discipline, patience, accountability, sharing of knowledge, information and ideas.
